No one ever really understands how tiring having a baby is until they’ve experienced it. It comes from working both day shift and night shift with bits and pieces of sleep scattered throughout. I’ve been there, done that, got the bags under my eyes. For my first little one, I read books on sleep and come three to four months in, things really turned around. But, along came number two, leaving little or no time to read and a busy two year-old buzzing around, I needed MORE sleep! I called a sleep consultant and was given some great tips and a plan. My life was so changed that I decided that I want to help other tired babies, toddlers and caregivers! I started a course, got oodles of volunteer clients and got here…ready to help you! I know the patience it takes to make changes and how hard it is when you are already sleep deprived; I have both the patience and support needed to help you. For proof, check out my reviews.
I know you’re tired, I can help!

You will receive a questionnaire to complete which will help me to get to know more about you, your parenting style, your child and your goals for sleep.
After receiving your questionnaire I create a custom plan based on the information you have provided. This plan will explain to you why sleep is the way it is and why the steps we’re about to undertake will be a game changer! Knowledge is power and you are more likely to follow the plan if you understand WHY!
Once the plan is in your hands you will review it and we will arrange a phone call to go over everything together. Now you have the tools to roll out the plan! Consistency and patience are key with your little ones...they thrive on it, let's ROLL!
For two weeks we will have daily check-ins through a sleep log so I stay up to speed. These check ins are to answer questions, steer you in the right direction and troubleshoot. You can also receive support through e-mail, text, phone, Skype or Facetime, (more as technology evolves I'm sure) if you need it. This phase is a two-way street to keep information and the 'Plan' moving forward.
Setting the stage for good sleep is hugely important!
A big CONGRATULATIONS to those who have conquered their sleep woes from an early age!

We were blessed to have discovered Lindsay at Starlight just when we had reached the end of our rope. Our 3 year old daughter has never been a great sleeper, but had gotten progressively worse to the point where we were spending hours putting her to bed and waking up in the night with her. We started seeing results as soon as we began implementing Lindsay's personalized plan. While the process was challenging at times, Lindsay was always supportive, positive and patient. We now have a 3 year old who can fall asleep on her own and will sleep 11-12 hours through the night. We actually have our evenings to ourselves! Totally worth the investment!

Lindsay was great to deal with. She listened to the issues I was having with my 4-month-olds night wakes and short naps. She also helped with my 2 year old transitioning away from the soother. After following some simple feeding suggestions during the night, my little one started sleeping much better. We now have a much happier baby and toddler. Thank you Lindsay for all your help!

We are a family with 4-month old twins and a 2.5-year-old toddler. Before reaching out to Lindsay we were at the end of our ropes and were not coping well with how little our babies were napping, and how much effort it required to get them to fall asleep and stay asleep. Our babies were completely dependent on us assisting them to sleep, by rocking, bouncing, and holding them. They often needed a pacifier to fall asleep which was problematic as they would wake up the moment it fell out of their mouths.
We were incredibly frustrated that we were spending more time putting the babies to sleep than they’d actually sleep for. The babies did not know how to consolidate their sleep cycles when they napped, and would only sleep for 30-45 minutes.
Many times, Twin A would sleep longer than Twin B, resulting in them not remaining on the same schedule throughout the day which meant no breaks or downtime.
Bedtime was also a disaster, as babies just would not settle. It was a 2 hour process from feeding them, trying to settle them, assisting them to sleep, putting them down, them waking up when put down, assisting them to sleep again, putting them down, leaving the room, going downstairs, then back up the stairs when they woke up 5 minutes later. Repeat for 2 hours until we eventually settled them to sleep. This bedtime disaster was not sustainable and when paired with naptime frustrations, our family was struggling (to put it mildly).
We wanted the babies to be able to fall asleep unassisted, as spending so much time settling the babies was not fair to our 2.5-year-old daughter who also needed attention and deserved special one on one time with her parents.
We were apprehensive about working with a sleep consultant as the babies had significant health issues a few months ago and we are extremely protective of them. Lindsay valued these apprehensions and provided a gentle approach that respected our babies as she always maintained their health and safety as her top priority.
In preparation for sleep training the babies, Lindsay developed a plan that we were comfortable with, that also addressed challenges specific to training twins compared to training a singleton. She answered all of our questions regarding implementing the plan, and thoroughly supported us through the implementation. Lindsay always provided timely feedback so we could make changes to our habits, if necessary, the very next day. She helped us stay on top of awake times which prevented overtired babies and made the process of them learning how to fall asleep independently easier on the babies. She assisted us in creating a schedule that helped the babies eat more efficiently and sleep longer.
Our babies are so much happier now that they are rested and we actually enjoy our babies now that we no longer feel completely and utterly depleted. Our toddler has so much more quality time with her parents now that her little sisters have learned how to fall asleep independently and sleep for a longer period of time.
If you are on the fence about hiring Lindsay as a sleep consultant, consider this: she will help create/restore balance in your family. She will help everyone in your family get more restful sleep. She will help your family dynamics be more positive. She will encourage you and guide you in teaching your babies how to self sooth in a respectful and loving way. Lindsay will help your family function better. This is life changing.

We approached Lindsay for sleep guidance when Lana was 8.5 months. Although Lana hasn’t been the worst sleeper, we had been enduring multiple wake-ups since the early days, plus a quite haphazard nap schedule during the day. This all became unsustainable when I returned to work when Lana was 4.5 months and so after we saw no changes in her sleep patterns when we started weaning, we decided to try sleep training.
Our goals essentially were to dramatically reduce, if not eliminate, the multiple wake-ups during the night. As well as this we wanted to create some regularity around daytime naps that worked for us and Lana’s days at the childminder’s.
So after an initial consultation and a comprehensive questionnaire outlining our lifestyles and Lana’s daily sleep and feeding habits, Lindsay presented us with 3 different approaches to sleep training. This was important for us to have autonomy over our choice of sleep training method as it had to work for our lifestyle and what we felt fit best for Lana.
After 2 weeks of sleep training using our chosen method, and with the help of a 24/7 sleep log to help keep us accountable to our goals and to ask any questions, we have made significant progress with Lana’s sleep. Lana now sleeps through the night, understands how to self-soothe to sleep, has a consistent daytime nap schedule that works with the childminder’s, and we can put her down for he naps awake - which we couldn’t do before!
As babies are notoriously predictable, we also know how to be a little flexible with the sleep routine when Lana’s habits deviate from the schedule. But overall we couldn’t be happier with the result and it is thanks to Lindsay’s encouragement, motivation and advice (particularly at 3am when we were sometimes at the end of our tether!) that we are all in a much better place mentally. My husband and I are so grateful to be getting more sleep finally! Thanks so much Lindsay for your help!
This program was absolutely amazing. Hudson was getting up 3-5 times a night for feeds up until 5.5 months old. It was exhausting. After two weeks of working with Lindsay, Hudson now sleeps 12 hours through the night and has a consistent nap/wake schedule in the day. My husband and I are so thankful that we are able to sleep

After two weeks of working with Lindsay, Hudson now sleeps 12 hours through the night and has a consistent nap/wake schedule in the day. Lindsay was amazing to work with - so knowledgable, makes sure you are comfortable with the plan, provides easy to follow instructions (both written and verbal), is SO supportive and offers such great advice ! We would 100% recommend this program and think so highly of Lindsay! Thank you again!
I can never thank you enough for your expertise and guidance during this training. It was the best decision we ever made and ended up being far less stressful than I imagined. Now we're all happier and well rested and it's all thanks to you!
Sleep is a basic human necessity! Without it we make more mistakes, have difficulty controlling emotions, impaired cognitive function, daytime sleepiness, clumsiness and weight fluctuations. This is true for adults and children. Although having children can alter our normal sleep patterns when they are quite small, this is not something that should be sustained for a period of time. As long as a child has a clean bill of health they should be able to start establishing a regular sleep pattern between 3-4 months.
I have trained in over 8 different age appropriate techniques, from gentle parent present technique to more independent. From extinction to Ferber method, the sleep lady shuffle, pick up put down, put down put down, 4R's and 5S's made famous by Dr. Karp. I collaborate with parents to find out their parenting style and what might work best for their little one. Most families are given a few options to choose from, depending on the issue at hand and the age of the little one. There is no point giving a family a technique to use if the are not going to be able to stick with it.
From working with babies that are three weeks of age up to children that are five years old you can imagine that what works for a three week old will not work for a five year old. There are no two adults or children alike, and they must be treated as individuals.
It really depends on what method you choose, your child's temperament, how ingrained the habits are, and how much you've tried in the past. It is not uncommon to see improvements within a few nights, but you should be prepared to be totally consistent with the plan for at least two weeks.
I am a Certified Infant and Toddler Sleep Consultant and Registered Respiratory Therapist. When I was off on maternity leave with my second child I took a 6 month training program through Baby Sleep Consultant Training. It was a great evidence based training program with one on one coaching, and practical experience working with 16 volunteer families to become certified.
Certainly! I will post on my Facebook group any upcoming talks, if you are interested in having me speak to a group in your organization or privately for your family and friends, please send me an email to set up a talk.
